Professor Dan Cruickshank has been associated with Robert Adam Architects for several years and became its Historic Buildings Consultant in 1999. He is a regular contributor to BBC2 architectural programmes and a consultant, writer and presenter on the BBC’s architectural programmes One Foot in the Past and The House Detectives.
An Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, he has Degrees in art, design and in the history of art and architecture, is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Sheffield and a member of the London faculty of the University of Delaware. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Georgian Group and on the Architectural Panel of the National Trust.
Major projects include the repair and restoration of many historical buildings and landscapes including Spencer House in St James’s, Heveningham Hall in Suffolk and numerous early eighteenth century houses in Spitalfields and other parts of London.
