Planning permission has been granted for the construction of an apartment block on an important site in the heart of the Mayfair Conservation Area.  The new building in Farm Street, designed by Hugh Petter of Robert Adam Architects, will provide eleven 2-3 bedroom luxury flats and three 3-bed maisonettes with gardens. The apartments, ideally located on a quiet corner site in London’s most exclusive residential area, will have access to a substantial roof garden as well as basement car parking and 24 hour concierge.

Opportunities to build new properties in Mayfair are rare but Robert Adam Architects’ understanding of the historic character of the area, and acknowledged expertise in classical and traditional design has ensured the highest standards in design at this sensitive site.

The 2,100 sq m building will replace an unsightly refuse collection depot built in the 1960s, seamlessly slotting into the existing urban environment and enhancing the character of the Mayfair Conservation Area. In keeping with many other buildings in the locality the design features a rusticated Portland Stone base surmounted by three storeys in brick with appropriate stone detailing and wrought iron balconies. Residents will enter through a single Doric pedimented entrance on Farm Street.
