HUNTLEY HOUSE WINS AT THE 2004 BRICK AWARDS

Huntley House, a two-storey extra-care housing scheme at Whiteley Village, Weybridge has won the category for best private housing development at the Brick Development Association Awards 2004. It also gained a runners-up prize in the best craftsmanship award. The building houses 49 self-contained apartments and support staff at the Surrey village built by William Whiteley to house elderly people and has been designed to compliment the established Grade II-listed village buildings. The bricks used are Charnwood Forest Handmades and Michelmersh Brick & Tile Handmades. The main contractor was Dean & Dyball Construction with Apex Masonry Contracts Ltd. as the brickwork contractor.
